Branding

In crafting brand identities, I've taken a holistic approach, carefully considering every element to ensure alignment with the brand's core values and market positioning. This methodology is evident in my leadership of the 'Major Decisions' podcast project and the development of Jason Goldfarb Photography's branding standards. These examples highlight my skill in developing branding that communicates clearly and effectively, ensuring a consistent and appealing presence across various mediums.

UVM Podcast -
Major Decisions: A Podcast About College

During my tenure at the University of Vermont (UVM) Communications Office, I spearheaded an innovative initiative to launch an official UVM podcast titled "Major Decisions: A Podcast About College." This project was conceived with the understanding that there was a significant need for a resource that could provide prospective college students with insights into the college experience beyond promotional content. The podcast aimed to offer educational content about the broader aspects of college life, such as choosing majors, understanding campus culture, and navigating the challenges and opportunities of higher education.

I took the lead in developing the concept, creating a detailed pitch deck to secure buy-in from both the communications team and the office of admissions. My proposal outlined the vision and objectives of the podcast, emphasizing its potential to serve as a valuable educational tool for high school students at a critical decision-making point in their lives. The enthusiastic support from these key stakeholders was crucial in moving the project forward.

The podcast was hosted by Ryan Hargraves, the Director of Admissions at UVM. His role as host brought a wealth of experience and insight to the podcast, making it a credible and engaging resource for our target audience. In line with UVM's branding guidelines, I designed the pitch deck and the official logo for "Major Decisions," (showcased below) ensuring that the visual elements of the podcast were warm, welcoming, and aligned with the informational and supportive nature of the content.

Despite the successful production of the first three episodes in early 2020, the launch of "Major Decisions" was indefinitely postponed due to the pandemic. This unforeseen circumstance, while disappointing, does not diminish the value of the work done or the learning gained from the experience. The process of conceptualizing, developing, and preparing to launch the podcast underscored the importance of innovative thinking, adaptability, and the impact of digital media in educational outreach.

"Major Decisions: A Podcast About College" remains a significant part of my portfolio, reflecting my commitment to leveraging communications to enhance educational experiences and community engagement. This project not only showcased my ability to lead and innovate within the digital media space but also reinforced the importance of creating meaningful content that addresses the real needs and concerns of students navigating their educational journeys.

Branding Guidelines

In the highly visual world of photography, a brand's visual identity is not just a marker of professionalism but also a declaration of style and ethos. Recognizing the importance of a cohesive brand image, I established a comprehensive set of branding guidelines for Jason Goldfarb Photography. This initiative was aimed at ensuring consistency and sophistication across all platforms where my brand has a presence.

Working closely with a designer, we crafted a suite of branding elements that would come to define Jason Goldfarb Photography's visual identity. The foundation of these guidelines is built upon six carefully selected branding colors, a versatile logo suite, and a set of typography standards. These components are not chosen at random but are deeply interwoven with the brand's core values and aesthetic vision.

The logo we developed is the epitome of clean, refined, and classic design. It's a visual representation of Jason Goldfarb Photography's commitment to elegance and timelessness. With custom typography revisions, we introduced a unique look that exudes luxury and significance. This careful balance between sophistication and accessibility ensures the logo is not perceived as overly formal or distant but rather inviting and prestigious. The overall style of the branding seeks to be timeless, standing out in the ever-evolving landscape of photography with grace and durability.

These branding guidelines have been meticulously applied across all touchpoints of the brand. From the digital realm of my website and social media to the tangible aspects of print collateral such as flyers and business cards, every piece is a testament to the unified and sophisticated image of Jason Goldfarb Photography. This consistency reinforces the brand's identity, making it recognizable and memorable in the crowded photography market.

The creation and implementation of these branding guidelines signify more than just a visual makeover; they represent a strategic foundation for Jason Goldfarb Photography's market presence. By establishing a coherent and appealing visual language, the brand not only attracts its ideal clientele but also communicates its core values and dedication to quality, luxury, and timeless elegance.
